Bombarded with promises to lose weight quickly, to lose weight fast and with EASE. So many options, but what’s a woman to do?
How are you supposed to pick one?
Here’s a 5 point checklist for diets you should avoid:
1. The diet claims a specific food for weight loss
There is no one food that will help you lose weight. Successful weight loss, is all about eating in a calorie deficit. Go here, to find out more about only absolute principle in weight loss.
2. The diet claims you MUST eat at certain times
Nope. There is no magic time for your body eat. A banana has the same calorie content, whether you eat it at 9am or 9pm. Nothing magical happens to your food, once the moon rises.
3. You have to wear something to make you sweat
Waist trainers, saran wrap?? None of those things cause weight loss. Weight management is dependent on the food we eat and the energy we use. These ‘melt the fat’ techniques are simply making you sweat. Once you drink water, the water weight will return. Also please be careful with these types of techniques, they could cause some significant dehyration.
4. Application of creams
Ok, you know this one. No cream or whatever is going to help you lose weight because making your purse a lighter. The worst one I’ve seen so far, has been on youtube. A claim that Vicks Vapor Rub will make pounds disappear overnight. HAHAHHAHA. Sorry, I cannot with that one.
I mean really? Because if that were true. Most of us, should have be flat chested in our teens, from all the times our mums told us to put vicks on when we got a cold.
5. Demands you drink your weight in water
Water is essential for our general health, but water in itself, does not make you lose weight. It does help you feel better as it’s important to keep our body’s well hydrated. However, drinking specifc volumes of water e.g. 8 glasses isn’t required to lose weight because water intake is individual. How much you should be drinking depends on your activity level, the water content you get from food and your environment.
There are so many diets out there because that fact is, many woman just like you are struggling with their weight. And I know, you’re looking for the right answer for you. That’s why I want to help you head in the right direction.
